Nuclear Facilities Looking for Insulation and Lead Abatement
Problem
Multiple nuclear facility locations around the US were looking for coatings to provide surface protection from mold, lead abatement, and energy saving solutions.
Solution
Nansulate™ GP (now PT)- was used by Wolf Creek Nuclear Facility in Kansas for insulation and surface protection over the concrete walls of a cabinet room. The coating reduces heat transfer as well as provides resistance to moisture, mold, and UV degradation.
Nansulate™ PT insulation and corrosion prevention coating for metal surfaces was used by Konecranes Nuclear Equipment Service at the Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant in Texas for applications over metal structures. This coating reduces heat transfer as well as provides excellent corrosion prevention, and resistance to moisture and UV degradation.
Other nuclear Applications include insulation of steam & metal components to increase energy output, and use in nuclear base decommissioning for clear, safe encapsulation of lead contaminated surfaces for effective lead abatement.
