Nansulate™ High Heat Coating stops evaporation of methanol and protects tanks from corrosion in extreme environment. (Methanol Tank Insulation)

Problem

A petrochemical facility in the Middle East needed to significantly reduce vaporization of methanol inside storage tanks. Traditional insulation could not be used due to the high humidity in the region. Secondarily, they also wanted to prevent corrosion on the tanks, which was being caused by mineral wool methanol tank insulation.

Solution

Nansulate™ High Heat insulation coating was used on the exterior of the tanks, with an overcoat of a blue tinted top coat in their desired color. Syneffex™ technology provided them with an effective thin film solution which was highly durable and effective in the demanding environment, stopped the vaporization and offered long-term protection. The tanks are checked every six months for corrosion, and none has been detected since installation of the Nansulate™ High Heat in the summer of 2008.

Nansulate™ coatings are a popular insulation for the chemical manufacturing industry.

Standout Results!

Application was done in Summer 2008 and is checked for corrosion by engineers every 6 months. No corrosion has been detected. The Nansulate™ High Heat Coating insulated the tank to stop methanol evaporation.
