Problem

Long-term protection of aluminum panels which are to be used in a ceiling of the air link bridge at Suvarnabhumi International airport, a new state of the art international airport in Thailand. They wanted a sustainable building envelope insulation for the new airport.

Solution

Nansulate™ Translucent PT was used to coat the aluminum sandwich panels, providing them with long-term corrosion protection and offering added insulating ability. The new Terminal Complex, in Nong Ngu Hao, Samut Prakarn Province, has a total floor area of 500,000m2, making it the largest airport in the world at the time it was built. Robertson supplied 11,530m2 of Robertson Wall Panels in fluorocarbon painted aluminum and steel, which were used as roof and soffit claddings for the terminal building’s aerobridges, including the double-decker aerobridges.

Standout Results!

The final analysis showed that Nansulate™ Translucent PT provided this state-of-the-art Airport with a state-of-the-art insulation technology that saved energy, reduced corrosion and condensation and allowed the beauty of the airport architecture to shine through.
