Insulation of textile manufacturing equipment – Reduced overall energy use by 20%.

Problem

Henateks, a textile manufacturer for Nike, Adidas, Tommy Hilfiger, and others was looking for a way to increase energy efficiency in their dyehouse and reduce their carbon emissions.

Solution

Nansulate™ High Heat coating was used to insulate their steam boiler, steam pipes and valves, heat exchanger, and used for yarn dyeing machine insulation too. The overall thickness was between 13-15 coats (650-750 microns dry film thickness).

Their charted energy savings and cost savings were as follows during 2007 (the year they installed our Nansulate™ High Heat coating) and 2008 (factory operating at lower capacity):

Liquid Natural Gas Consumption Reduction: 2007/1,114,152 Sm3; 2008/1,097,447

Energy Cost savings: 2007/$392,275 USD; 2008/$460,162 USD

Overall energy savings: 20%

Payback time on project: 7 months

Standout Results!

The final analysis showed that Nansulate™ High Heat reduced energy use in the textile manufacturing facility by 20%, provided a longer life-span than rock wool with cladding, and had a payback in only 7 months.
