Sinopec Oil & Gas Company Solves Offshore CUI Problem
Oil and gas company, Sinopec, needed a better insulation solution for their fuel oil storage tanks that were located on offshore oil platforms. They had been using mineral wool with aluminum covering and it caused horrible corrosion of their tanks and did not stand up to the salt spray environment, degrading very quickly.
Nansulate™ High Heat gave them with an effective solution in a clear thin-film application that also prevented corrosion. A 12-coat application of the Nansulate™ High Heat was used over the offshore fuel oil storage tank, that had to be kept between 68C and 72C. Syneffex™ coating insulated as well as new 8cm mineral wool with cladding (within 3 degrees), stopped the CUI problem and lasted much longer.
